...If I spontaneously bleed out of my nostrils.
Apparently this, and on-going cold-like symptoms, are completely normal reactions of harboring a fetus (this will be my title if I ever write a pregnancy book).
S bought 12 packs of tissues a couple weeks back, so of course I am blaming him for this.

18 weeks!
How far along: 18 weeks.
Baby is the size of: Sweet Potato!
Physical symptoms: I've had a headache the last couple of days that I think is sinus infection related. I've also been really gassy.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I haven't weighed myself in the last two weeks.
Maternity clothes: Oh yes, my non maternity shirts don't stretch down far enough.
Stretch marks: I think I've noticed a couple.
Sleep: Sleep is my favorite.
Best moment last week: I got some kicks on Sunday! Totally exciting! I've been getting them in the morning and at night, not so much during the day.
Movement: Yes! See above.
Food cravings: Still into fruity cereals. I also got a hankering for Girl Scout cookies and desperately tried to find a scout to sell to me. S found someone so that's good.
Gender: Today I feel girl. It changes from day to day.
Labor signs: None, thank goodness.
Belly button: Very long and thin. It makes my bump look funny.
What I miss: Still miss wine and beer.
What I am looking forward to: We have our Anatomy Scan this coming Monday! I can't wait!
Milestones: Baby kicks and almost to A/S! That seems pretty big this week!

All Good Things
The last day has been pretty exciting baby-wise. We had a pretty crazy one due to my MIL's birthday and then the Super Bowl later. When we went down to my IL's house they had some baby onesies and a bib that my FIL just had to buy for us, plus a blanket that S's granny made. It was all super sweet and I love these onesies and bib so much that they kill me with the cute.
Check it out:
Too perfect, right?
I can't wait to have baby wear them.
In other exciting news I'm pretty sure I actually felt baby really kick for the first time last night! The last couple weeks I've been feeling sensations, but I've been afraid to call it and been chalking it up to gas. During the Super Bowl I felt 3 very distinct kicks in my lower pelvis (which is were baby likes to hang out). It was awesome! So I don't know if this means that baby loves football, hates football or was yelling, "Hey, guys pipe down! I'm trying to sleep in here!" S, the logical one, says that baby can't exactly see what they are watching. Poo on him, buzzkill. Still very exciting, I got one more kick a few minutes after that. I had a couple this morning, but nothing since.
Move, baby, move!
I'm also really happy because we only have 7 more sleeps until our A/S! I can't wait to see baby again and maybe find out the sex! Woohoo! I hope this next week flies by and baby is cooperative!

Liebster Award!
Stephanie from Parenting Jacob nominated me for a Liebster Award and gave me some questions to answer. Thanks, Stephanie!

Here are my questions:

Here are my questions:
1. What do you consider your strongest moment?
When my brother died and I had to plan his funeral. My parents weren't handling it well. I came down and helped put everything together. I went shopping for a casket and bought a grave plot on my birthday. It was not a fun time, but I felt it was the strongest I've ever been because all I wanted to do was lose it and not move from bed. I slept maybe 2 nights that week.
2. What season is your favourite and why?
Fall/Autumn. I like the crisp in the air. It's not too cold, not too hot, none of those pesky allergies and it's beautiful.
3. Where would you like to travel next?
Europe, more specifically Great Britain and Ireland.
4. What are you most looking forward to this year?
Having a baby!
5. Do you have an unusual talent?
Most of my talents are pretty common. I used to be able to stick my fist in my mouth, but braces fixed that.
6. What makes you proudest?
Being able to feel like I've made a difference or done something important.
7. Which celebrity do people say you most look like?
I've been told I looked like Fiona Apple, but that was when I was thin and in college. Now I'm not so sure.
8. What hobbies do you have?
I like to draw, play video games and read. Also does binge watching on Netflix count as a hobby? Because that too.
9. What do you hope to get from blogging?
To become super famous, just kidding. Mostly to get my feels out in the open and be able to track my days.
10. What is your favourite thing to do after a long, stressful day?
To be by myself with a glass of wine, music and some sort of activity that takes my mind away from it.
11. How do you want your child's upbringing to differ from yours?
I want to be able to provide the things they want and need. If they say they want to join the Browines or the Boy Scouts I don't want to have to say we can't afford it or we don't have time. I want to make sure I'm always there. My parents weren't bad people, they just had more kids than they really had the time for and money was always really tight. We moved a lot, I never really had a "home" that I could get attached to. I want to make sure we have a stable life for our child.
Most of the blogs I follow have already done this, and I'm very new to following blogs in general, so as a total cop out I nominate YOU! You, whoever is reading this and hasn't done this yet. And as an extra cop out, same questions because I'm lazy and I'm terrible at this sort of thing.

Food is Good
Things I've eaten today
Second Trimester is the best, but I'm so worried about my potential weight gain for the upcoming visit in a week. This is my life:

Ah well, I'm ridiculous. Here's a picture of me from today's program. I crack myself up.
- Cereal - more specifically Captain Crunch with berries
- Rice Crispy Treat
- Mozzarella Stick
- A stolen bag of dinosaur fruit snacks from the children's department
- Two hot dogs sans buns
- Raspberry Yogurt
- Fruit filled health bar
- A stolen cookie from children's program
- A bowl of Macaroni and Cheese with cut up sausages
- A bowl of Apple Pie ice cream
- See above

17 Weeks!
How far along: 17 weeks.
Baby is the size of: One website says onion, the other says turnip. I hate onions with a raging passion so I'm going with turnip. Not that that is much better.
Physical symptoms: Mostly just fatigue. I have a cold so that is overshadowing anything else.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I was up 5lbs at my 16 week visit.
Maternity clothes: Yes, I've been wearing them since my last half of my 13th week.
Stretch marks: Nothing that wasn't there already.
Sleep: Yes, please.
Best moment last week: We finally got to hear the heartbeat on the doppler at our visit. During our 11-12 week visit baby was super shy and stubborn and we had to have an ultrasound.
Movement: I think so? I'm not totally calling it yet though.
Food cravings: I love cereal, fruit and anything with sugar.
Gender: My brain says boy. Everyone else says girl.
Labor signs: I hope not.
Belly button: Stretched pretty horizontal.
What I miss: Wine. I know that's crazy, but I've been really wanting a glass of wine for the last 4 months.
What I am looking forward to: Our Anatomy Scan on the 9th! Can't wait!
Milestones: My Pregnant After Infertility Brain considers every week rollover a milestone. I get very excited when I start a new week.
And bump. My head is cut off in this picture because I am sick and look terrible. This shirt is not flattering in the slightest. Hopefully next week I'll get a better bump picture.

A breath of fresh air
This isn't my first blog. I've done this multiple times. I got stalled, I got lost in the shuffle and didn't know how to dig myself back out. The last blog I started was to rant and rave about trying to have a baby, then to rant and rave about infertility and the testing and treatments that came with that. I needed some space from it, especially after I got pregnant. It's not that I want to wipe all that under the rug, I just don't feel like my happy updates belong there anymore. My life has changed and I need some fresh air. So it begins.
My name is Sarah. I'm 27 years old and 17 weeks pregnant (today!) with my husband and I's first child. No we don't know what it is yet sex-wise, we may find out in about 2 weeks. I'm due on July 8th. We tried for a year and a half and conceived with the help of Femara and an IUI (inter-uterine insemination). I have two cats, which is my inspiration for the name of this blog. Yes, I know the song is "Cats in the Cradle", but this makes more sense for me. It's a play on words. I'm not new to the internet by any stretch of the imagination and I hope I do myself proud by actually updating this thing.
So until then!
